Last night I ran into a girl at waffle house whom I used to go to middle school with. Her coworker’s iPhone was playing Pandora, and Rihanna’s “Cake” song came on, and I said “oooh, I like this song”. They asked who it was, and I told them. They both scrunched their noses, and I said “I like that she’s so unashamed about being sexual; I think she’s a badass” and girl from middle school just goes, “Mm-mm…” rather disapprovingly.

Which goes right back to why I love Rihanna - ‘cause she doesn’t give a fuck.

And I can’t help but think it’s because most of America can identify with the fear of being bombarded with gunfire while just enjoying a parade in the middle of town. The “oh my God, that could happen to me” factor isn’t present with a story about New Orleans or the Chicago southside.”

the only reason I knew this even happened was because I happened to have a friend visiting New Orleans that day.

i know this happened a long time ago, and all apologies have been granted fucking forgiveness, but neither of you were actually sorry to begin with because you felt bad that i drew the short end of the stick but slathered on the guilt like lotion to absorb and grow numb to because you know i hate conflict and that i will try to get over myself before either of you actually critically think about how your fucking gross uber-heteronormative pseudo-relationship (i hate to go there but it FEELS SO GOOD TO SAY IT) might be breaking common sense friendship codes.

so yeah, i can’t say “lol but fuck it i don’t give a fuck” because just by making this post i’m totally admitting i give a fuck, but it’s really only whenever you both do gross couple-y things publicly.
it’s also frustrating knowing one of you is pretty skeptical about the continuation of the whatever-the-fuck-y’all-are-doing because you’re horny but flaky but sweet on his stature but not actually sweet on him.
why? because do you know how many mutual friends have made snarky commentary and asked me why i didn’t just shrug off both your friendships from my life knowing both of you knew you were hurting my feelings (a lot) in the process? did you know i have constantly defended both of you against everyone’s criticism by assuring them “ah, but they actually do like each other, and i don’t want to stop something that could make them both really happy”?

this is me officially admitting my bitterness. on tumblr. kind of immaturely, too.
